What does “silica gemstone” mean?

In gemstone listings, silica gemstone usually points to quartz, chalcedony, agate, or another material whose identity is discussed through silicon dioxide (SiO₂). That is narrower than silicate gemstone, which refers to a much broader mineral family. If a listing only says “silica,” start with the guides in this category and confirm the specific material, treatment, and durability before buying.
